WHEN IN ROME.......DO THE ROMANS!!

Saw the following movies in the last couple of weeks:

SALAAM NAMASTE: This movie is total CRAP....EXCEPT the tiny role of Javed Jaffery. He has probably 2-five minute roles in the whole crappy movie and that is hilarious. Javed Jaffery plays a mimic of crocodile dundee, speaks broken English with an AusTRAILIAN accent. He has an Australian wife, whom he addresses as WIFE and she does not understand his English or Hindi. So whenever JJ says anything to her she just says "Sorry?!" and JJ follows "EXAJHHACTLY".....these part is hilarious, though gets a bit over in the end. BUT this one quote is the best " WHEN IN ROME, DO THE ROMANS" as JJ means to say "When in Rome, be a Roman."
Over all the Movie is a piece of CRAP so don't watch it.

CITIZEN X: Excellent movie...based on a true story in Rostov, Russia, the plot involves the tracking of a serial killer who committed 52 murders from 1980 to 1990. The chief detective in the case was a forensic surgeon who is given charge of the case by his immediate superior. Its an awesome tale of perseverance, patience and logical common sense without any goriness. A must see for anybody interested in murder mysteries.

2046: After seeing House of Flying Daggers, I have decided to see all the movies by Zhang Ziyi. She is just too good an actress. 2046 is also a masterpiece from her. The story is a bit slow and sad but the acting by Ziyi is just too powerful. Also the setting of the movie is good and simple which enables you to enjoy the movie even with subtitles. Other good upcoming movies by Ziyi....Memoirs of Geisha, Jasmine Flower. Here is an interesting picture of Ash making more waves...in China with Ziyi..

MANGAL PANDEY: As expected, you cannot blow up a single personality in India's magnanimous freedom struggle. And for those who remember Ajay Devgan in Shaheed Bhagat Singh, this movie is also similar where you have a good star cast but the story itself is so weak, nobody can do anything. Though I do not understand why Amir Khan took 4 years to get the movie done...it definitely does not reflect in the movie. Also the Khan is not at his best of acting, but I guess to the best of his moustaches!!!

VIRUDH: Also saw Virudh more than 2 weeks back...and I say Amitabh still rules. Even at this age, comparing him to Khans(Saif and Amir) these tinytots are just nothing but smaller than pennies in front of the priceless Amitabh. In the movie Amitabh is also greatly supported by Sharmila Tagore. That Abraham kid is also kept well at bay, not to blabber much and let Amitabh and the 'Tigress' do the job. Didn't know Mahesh Manjeraker would fish out such a good one, totally in contrast to his previous movies.
