Tuesday, September 13, 2005 An Envious Episode... A post on Ansel Adam's picture on Blog of Parag reminded me of my room mate a few years back. This roomie of mine went garage-sale-shopping one early morning and bought home a huge blow out of one of Ansel Adam's many 'Monolith' pictures. I asked him how much did he get it for and he said for $2. The photograph (of course a replica) was with a very good frame and in perfect shape. He said he got it cos he liked the frame so much, and he planned to get rid of the photograph and keep the frame...Grrrr I told him how could you ever think of throwing away an Ansel Adam picture...and he asked me..."Who is Ansel Adam?" I told him about the great genius and asked him to give me the picture. After knowing who the genius was....he till today refuses to give me that picture....& I still keep on asking him for that every now and then.... :-) Ohh BTW there is a beautiful exhibition on Ansel Adam's photographs currently running in the Harry Ransom Centre of our University and will go on till mid January 2006.
