Friday, July 23, 2004 Dr. Akagi Saw this Japanese film 'Dr. Akagi' yesterday. Set in the World War II time era, the movie is about one Dr. Akagi who is extermely devoted to wiping out Hepatitis. He just keeps on running from house to house and the village lovingly calls him Dr. Liver for his tireless efforts. The Japanese government, due to the war is umwilling to support his research and hence Dr. Liver is helped by his friends: A Buddhist priest who is a drunkard, a surgeon who is a morphine addict, a Dutch POW and a former prostitute, who falls in love with the doctor.
